Woven is appointing a new Chief Executive

Alan McKeown is bringing more than thirty years’ experience and expertise in housing and leadership, and we are greatly looking forward to him taking up his role as Chief Executive of Woven.

We are delighted to introduce our newly appointed Chief Executive, Alan McKeown, who will be taking up his full-time, permanent post with us at the end of March 2025, as we mark our first full year as Woven.

Alan is joining Woven from Invest NI, where his current role is Executive Director of the Regional Business Group. He also manages the corporate IT and Digital Services divisions, ensuring customers and staff operate and engage effectively through digital channels.

Alan is a graduate of Queen’s University and Stirling University, and has extensive experience of working within government and local government organisations, as well as in the housing and voluntary sectors. He has held several executive positions in the public sector and has substantial experience at local and national level on a wide range of leadership, management, legislative, policy and partnership agendas. His housing career started at Stirling University, and he went on to work for the former Roxburghe District Council, in the Scottish Borders, the Chartered Institute of Housing in Scotland, Fife Council, The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities and Angus Council. He has led, both strategically and operationally, on housing services, tenant empowerment, development, community planning and partnership.
